Yashas Karanam, Co-Founder and COO of Bellatrix Aerospace is responsible for operations and business decisions of the company. He co-founded Bellatrix in 2015 as a student entrepreneur while at university pursuing his Electrical Engineering. Under his leadership, Bellatrix has developed 4 innovative propulsion technologies from a clean sheet design within a record time and has also setup Asia's largest privately funded spacecraft propulsion test facility. Bellatrix Aerospace has won several awards in recognition for its innovation including 2 National Awards from the President of India. The company is also supplying a new type of electric propulsion system to Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for its satellites since 2016 and is currently looking at international expansion. Yashas also studies space policy and has contributed to the book ‘Space India 2.0: Commerce, Policy, Security and Governance Perspectives’ covering topics on Electric Propulsion Systems & Launch Vehicles from an Indian Perspective.
